Waiter's Day was celebrated in Lviv on May 22. On this day, they talked about the restaurant workers of Lviv, who are now defending Ukraine at the front. In addition, in several establishments, well-known opinion leaders took on the role of waiters, and the tips they earned went to support the military.

Waiter's Day is already a traditional holiday for Lviv. Every year, the city honors the work of waiters: waiters, administrators, baristas and bartenders of local establishments. Restaurant owners themselves serve guests, visitors bring flowers to their favorite waiters, and the city hall and public organizations reward the best employees. This day is designed to emphasize the importance of the profession in a city like Lviv and increase its prestige.

However, now there is one thing, the prestige of which is above all else - the defense of Ukraine. Among others, many restaurant workers of Lviv were mobilized to join the armed forces. Waiter's Day was dedicated to them this year. Therefore, this year, within the framework of this unique Lviv holiday, famous Lviv residents, media persons, bloggers, and volunteers were invited to be waiters. All earned tips were directed to cover military needs. In addition, on this day, the stories of Lviv waiters who defend Ukraine or actively volunteer will be told.

Also, for the first time, a capital institution joined the Waiter's Day: Beermaster Pub, where the owners will work to collect tips for a brewer serving in the Armed Forces.

Waiter's Day is a symbolic professional holiday that has been celebrated in Lviv since 2008 at the initiative of the NGO "Guild of Restaurateurs of Lviv". In recent years, it has been co-organized by institutions, the Institute of Galician Cuisine and the Lviv City Council.
The purpose of the holiday is to promote the prestige of professions that are vital for the big city, whose representatives are responsible for the mood of Lviv residents and are among the first to meet guests of the city. In different years, the program of Waiter Day included: the work of restaurateurs or show business stars in establishments, waiter races through the center of Lviv with trays, presentation of diplomas and other awards, various entertainment events for representatives of the profession and encouragement of Lviv residents to give gifts and greetings. In 2020 and 2022, the holiday was not celebrated. This year it will take place without a festive and entertaining part.
